STURGILL Kathryn (Mullin) Sturgill, age 87 passed away at Scioto Community on May 6, 2006. Kathryn was born in Magoffin County, KY on April 19, 1919, to Kennie and Eda (Wireman) Mullin. She moved to OH as a child. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Sturgill Sr., daughter Ellen Louise Smith, son Kenneth Levi Sturgill, and 10 brothers and sisters. Survived by children, Dorothy Jones of Cincinnati, Loretta (Robert) Shaw of Houston, TX, Geneva Fox of Laurelville, OH, and Vernon (Cindy) Sturgill Jr. of Amanda, OH; son-in-law, Charles Smith of Patriot, OH; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Louella (Lowell) Powell, Earlene Skeels and Emma (Johnny) Scroggins; sisters-in-law, Mary (Leroy) Scott of VA and Mona Knipp of Lawrence County; numerous relatives and friends. She worked for Decatur-Washington Local School District in Lawrence County before moving to Columbus. In Columbus she worked for Howard Johnson's, Western Electric, Ebco and retired from food service at Fisher Body in 1983. After retirement, she was active in Marion Square Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and canning her own vegetables. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main St. in Groveport, and from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. The family would like to thank all the professional health care workers who helped care for her. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
