Willa Mae McEntire, 78, Nixa, Mo., died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in her son’s home. She was born June 29, 1921, near Clever, the daughter of Oda and Bertha Scroggins Gilmore. Her husband, Leon, preceded her in death in 1987, after 45 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lenabelle Fugitt. Mrs. McEntire, a homemaker, was a long time member of Union Ridge Baptist Church, Clever, and attended Calvary Baptist Church, Nixa, during the past few years. She was a giving person with a big heart, continually doing for others. Survivors include her son, Bob, and his wife, Lavonne; two grandchildren, Mindi Holcomb and her husband, Ray, and Mason McEntire, all of Nixa; two great-grandchildren, Corey and Kelsi Holcomb; a dear nephew and his wife, Bill and Sue Fugitt, Fort Wayne, Ind.; other family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 1999, in Union Ridge Baptist Church, Clever, with the Rev. Leeroye Maples and the Rev. Carl Curtis officiating under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery, Clever. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
