Lois M. Tummons
Lois Margaret Tummons, age 70, of Lamar, Mo., passed away at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at Barton County Memorial Hospital. Lois was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Springfield, Mo., a daughter of Pearl and Allie Luvena (Bridges) Scroggins.
On July 6, 1953, in Springfield, she married Marcus Tummons. She had lived in Barton County for 38 years. Lois was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Todd Lester, Raytown, Mo., Luvena and Don Lewis, Jackson, Tenn., and Margaret and Jeff Phipps, Lamar; three sisters, Vi Davis, Sanger, Calif., Ester White, Godfrey, Ill., and Wanda Mazza, Sun City, Calif.; two brothers, Albert Scroggins and Lewis Scroggins, both of Springfield; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Tummons, on March 20, 1992; a sister, Noma Lipscomb; and two brothers, Glen Scroggins and Buddy Scroggins.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Jack Slade officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
