Funeral services for Mr. James Kenneth Scroggins, age 57, of Jackson's Gap will be Monday, November 8, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Comer Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Peters and Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 7, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Scroggins died on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center, Montclair in Birmingham. He was born on March 19, 1947 in Alexander City, AL. to James Farrow Scroggins and Mary Moore Scroggins. He was a faithful member of the Comer Memorial United Methodist Church where he served the Church as a Sunday School Teacher, member of the Choir and several other capacities. Mr. Scroggins worked for over 30 years with Russell Corp. as a Manager of the Quality Control Lab, Plant #2, and Yarn Maintenance. He was an Eagle Scout and member of the Gideon's International. He graduated from Benjamin Russell High School and Auburn University; was an avid Auburn Fan; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, nature, and collecting guns and bows.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Champion Scroggins of Jackson's Gap; one daughter, Lisa Holmes and her husband Tim of Alexander City; his grandchildren, Jeremy Pappas of Alexander City, Anna Holmes of Mobile, Haley Holmes of Birmingham, and Skylar Holmes of Birmingham; his mother, Mary Moore Scroggins of Alexander City; two sisters, Nancy Scroggins Sewell of Alexander City and Debra Easterwood of Jackson's Gap; and one brother, Larry Paul Scroggins of Alexander City.
