Mrs. Willie Lois Taylor of Louisville died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at Henry County Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was 83.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, Oct. 5, from Mount Zion Baptist Church. The Revs. Bob Britt and Curtis Rich will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or suggest that donations be made to Wiregrass Hospice of Barbour County, 831 W. Washington St., Eufaula, AL 36027.

Born Aug. 10, 1922, in Barbour County, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Dothan and Willie White Scroggins. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and loved to sew and cook. She was a lifelong resident of Barbour County and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Her husband of 64 years, James Merrill Taylor, predeceased her on July 15, 2005. Also, two brothers, Harvey and Stafford Scroggins and three sisters, Florrie Head, Myrtle Green and Ester Stuart preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy James and Shirley Taylor of Bremen, Ga., and Jerry Wayne and Mary Taylor of Clayton; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda Faye and Larry Beaty of Dothan; a brother, Don Scroggins of Eufaula; three sisters, Ruby Sanders of Louisville, Dean Olds of Memphis, Tenn., and Jennie Green of Union Springs; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Asked to serve as pallbearers were David Scroggins, Richard Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Larry Blankenship, Doug Pody and Tim Walker Jr.
