Ruby Perkins Brock Scroggins

Ruby Perkins Brock Scroggins, of Richmond, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Perkins and Myrta White Perkins; one son, Robert W. Schanz; her husbands, Archer Lee Brock and William Scroggins; two brothers, Earl and Robert Perkins; and three sisters, Gertrude Pollard, Gladys LeMay and Annie Parker.

Survivors include three grandsons, David Schanz and his wife, Beth, of Midlothian, Robert Schanz and his wife, Shirley of Chehalis, Washington and Eric Schanz and his wife, Laura, of Casadero, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Ben, Tessa, Helena and Nathan; one daughter-in-law, Norma H. Schanz; eight nieces and nephews, Katherine Head, Willie Mae Perkins, Joe Pollard, Frances Bennett, Betty Perkins Tetu, Louis Roby, Carl Parker and Winston Parker; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Scroggins was a member of Bethany Place Baptist Church, Richmond and had retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia. She was devoted to her family and her abundant love and energy will be missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Fluvanna Co., with the Rev. Frank E. Schumaker officiating. There are no viewing hours scheduled.

Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
