Stuttgart Daily Leader, 21 Dec 2001Marvin Elry Scroggins, 85, of Stuttgart died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Crestpark in DeWitt.
He was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Fairmount. He was a retired farmer and a member of North Maple Baptist Church in Stuttgart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hopson Scroggins.
Survivors are one son, Marvin "Bo" Scroggins and wife Beverly of DeWitt; one daughter, Martha Rose Wages and husband Ricky of Stuttgart; one brother, Kenneth Scroggins of Stuttgart; one grandchild, DeAnna Ray of Stuttgart; four step-grandchildren, Jacob and Charles Wages and Bryan and Mishelle Clawson; and five step-great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel Burial will follow in Lone Tree Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home at Stuttgart.
The family suggest memorials be made to the Stuttgart Agricultural Museum or a favorite charity.
The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 5-7 p.m. Friday.
