KATHRYN LOUISE SCROGGIN PEASE, 84, died Tuesday of complications of heart and lung disease at Reche Canyon Convalescent Hospital in Colton. Born in Dallas, Mrs. Pease lived in Riverside 35 years. She was a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Previously she was an associate editor of Douglas Service magazine at Douglas Aircraft during World War II. She also was a secretary in the UCLA Geography Department.

Mrs. Pease received a bachelor's degree from UCLA in 1934.

She was an editor of symphony programs and director of promotion and publicity for the Riverside Symphony. She was also the editor of the Riverside Symphony Guild board publication. She was a lifelong member of the Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and the UCLA Alumni Geography Society.

Mrs. Pease attended Father's House Christian Fellowship in Riverside.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne Pease-Simpson and Scott Simpson of Riverside; a brother, Louis Scroggin of La Quinta; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary in Riverside. Interment will be private.
