Age 53. Died suddenly Sunday (September 20) evening at his residence after a perfect day consisting of golf and socializing with friends.

Survived by his loving family: wife, Jolene (Giacomi)[ 48702]; son Michael A. [48707] (Molly Hoppenstedt) [48708]; daughter, Michelle A. [36264] (Cory Brenczewski) [36263]; brother, Wayne [48706] (Catherine); nephew, Keith Scroggins; father and mother-in-law, Dominick and Angeline Giacomi; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, a legion of friends and his beloved dog, Muffy.

Preceded in death by his parents Harold C. [48704] and Mary (Linker) [48705] Scroggins.

Born in Salinas, CA, a Joliet resident most of his life.

Graduate of Joliet Catholic and Lewis University.

Former teacher and coach at Joliet Catholic High School, former administrator at JJC, employed with Waddell and Reed Financial Services.

Member of the Cathedral of Saint Raymond, International Association Financial Planners, Joliet Evening Lions, Moran A.C., Joliet Elks Club #296, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #300, Knights of Columbus #382, Croatian Club and the Northwest Recreation Club.

Harry, who loved life, was known to the Joliet community for his warmth, kindness, extraordinary sense of humor and his passion for golf.

Anyone who knew Harry will remember his smile and laughter.

If the measure of life's wealth is friends, Harry died the richest man in the world.

Funeral services for Harry will be Thursday, September 24, 1998 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Harry will lie in state at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.

Visitation Wednesday 1-3 and 5-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to J.C.A. American Heart Association or the Will County Humane Society in the name of Harold Scroggins would greatly be appreciated. BLACKBURN-GIEGERICH-SONNTAG 1500 Black Rd., near Midland 744-4444
