Lloyd Cupp, age 89, of Morrilton, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016. He was born May 4, 1927 in Morrilton, Arkansas, a son of the late Lester Lloyd Cupp and Gertrude Halbrook Cupp. He attended the First United Methodist Church. In the 1940's the Cupp family brought the Minnow Industry to Arkansas. He loved his community and enjoyed serving his customers at Cupp's Bait Shop. He was a volunteer Fireman for 52 years serving as fire chief for 21 years, May 1, 1987 until he retired February 1, 2008. Lloyd enjoyed duck and turkey hunting and taking his friends and beginners hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dean Scroggin Cupp of Morrilton; son, Les Cupp of Morrilton; daughter, Carol (Jack) Fulmer of North Little Rock; two grandsons, Les (Phedre) Cupp and Josh Davis; three great-grandchildren, Hadley, Louden, and Finley; and dog, Micah. He was preceded in death by his son, Kennamer Earl Cupp; grandson, Spencer Davis; and two brothers, Floyd and Jack Cupp.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Harris Chapel with Rev. David Scroggin officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church and Morrilton Fire Department.
