Janet Nadia "Jani" Beamer-Wilson, 81, of Heppner died Friday, May 13, 2016, at her home. A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Heppner Masonic Cemetery.
She was born September 15, 1934, at Pendleton, Oregon, the daughter of John Wesley and Nadia Renee Lasure Scroggins . She was raised mostly in the Portland area where she graduated from Milwaukie High School. She attended beauty college and worked for a time as a hairdresser and later in life she worked in the hospitality field as a waitress.
Jani was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge. She enjoyed doing ceramics, horseback riding, working in her yard and she loved the outdoors.
Survivors include her children Douglas Preston, Wallace Johnston and Carrie Vernon; a brother, Edmund Scroggins ; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Neil Beamer; son Gerald Johnston; and sisters Joan, Dorothy and Frankie.
