Dolores (Scroggins) Cobb (5/3/1939 - 2/1/2016)

Dolores Cobb joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 1, 2016.

Dolores was born in Abilene on May 3, 1939 to the late Stella [33237:3] [FS:LJK5-2H7] and L.M. Scroggins. [16833:3][FS:LDLG-W3Z]: She married Franklin L. Cobb on August 31, 1957 who preceded her in death in 2005. She is also preceded in death by her only sister, Sarah Scroggins Anderson [39056:3] [LJK5-2CP] in 2008.

She graduated from The East Texas School of Nursing and retired from Trinity Mother Frances Hospital where she was a Neonatal Registered Nurse for almost 30 years. She had a strong love of God and was a long standing member of First Presbyterian Church of Tyler. One of her greatest loves was her animals. She owned a number of cats and raised a large variety of babies for Caldwell Children's Zoo through the years. She lived in Tyler for the past 54 years.

Dolores led a life of devotion to her family, friends and pets. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and giving spirit. She is survived by two daughters; Lynda and (Skip) Womack of Tyler, Vickie and (Laren) Craig of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Shelton Womack of Tyler and Malory Dean and husband Jake of Coffeyville, KS; one brother-in-law, Joe Anderson [46726:3] of League City; a niece, nephew, three great-nieces and one great-nephew. She will also be remembered by her dear friend Argentina Giraldo who lovingly cared for her for 26 years.

An Interment service will be held in Lubbock at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice . Arrangements are under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
