Mr. Alfred Paul Scroggins [54130] passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Nacogdoches Medical Center at the age of 81.
Paul was born June 9, 1934, and was a longtime resident of Nacogdoches County. He was working at Brookshire Brothers in Lufkin.
His survivors include his wife of more than 49 years, Lela Scroggins [54131] of Nacogdoches.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016, at the Libby Cemetery, located on FM 1878 in Nacogdoches County's Libby Community.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Mr. Alfred Paul Scroggins passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Nacogdoches Medical Center at the age of 81. Paul was born June 9, 1934, in Nanafalia, Alabama. He graduated in 1954 from Fair Park High School in Shreveport and then attended Centenary College. He worked most of his life in the grocery industry and at the time of his death was employed at Brookshire Brothers on Chestnut Drive in Lufkin. After working in Louisiana and Oklahoma, Paul moved to Nacogdoches in 1962 to begin working at Piggly Wiggly. He later worked at A&P Supermarket, Lovings Grocery, and Prudhomme Grocery before joining the staff of Boles Food Market...
