Deceased Name: Donald Joe Woodruff
GREENFIELD – Donald Joe Woodruff, age 80, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at AMG Specialty Hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Hymera, Indiana, as the son of Hershel B. and Olive Pauline (Mathers) Woodruff. He attended Hymera High School. He married Maxine Lou (Kelly) Woodruff, who passed away in 1989, and later married Wilma ( Scroggins ) Hancock Woodruff.
Joe worked for Hancock REMC for 15 years as a journeyman lineman, and then went to line construction with IBEW Local 1393 until he retired. He enjoyed family dinners, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Woodruff of Greenfield; children, Larry (Deborah) Woodruff and Debera (Mike) Rednour Broyles, both of Greenfield; stepchildren, Betty Hancock of Greenfield and Daryl (Phillis) Hancock of Wisconsin; sister, Adlynn House of Terre Haute; brother, Larry Woodruff of Mobile, Alabama;13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Woodruff; sons, Vernon Joe and David Woodruff; and daughters, Cindy and Sandy Woodruff.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Mike Hopper will be officiating.
