GLOUCESTER: Mrs. Valerie E. (Campbell) Elliott, 52, of Gloucester, died Monday, February 23, 2015, in Beverly Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born in Gloucester, she was the daughter of the late Charles [53945:M] and Carolyn Mae ( Scroggins ) [53946:M] Campbell. She was a resident of Gloucester for most of her life. A graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1980, she went on to North Shore Community College where she studied Nursing and worked through the Red Cross to become a certified Nurses Assistant.

Valerie worked at Blueberry Hill Nursing Home as a Nurses Assistant for several years. She previously worked at Magnolia's House of Pizza.

She had a vibrant personality and truly enjoyed the outdoors. She loved the beach and hiking. She also enjoyed traveling to New Hampshire, Maine and Florida. Valerie was a very kind person she always opened her home to anyone in need. During the holidays, she always made sure there was room at the dinner table for anyone who knocked on her door.

She is survived by her loving son, Drew Elliott [53950:M] and his fiance, Alexis Starbird of Gloucester; two daughters, Amanda [53951:M] and Emily [53952:M] Elliott, both of Beverly; two brothers, Charles "Skip" Campbell [53947:M] of Gloucester and James "Jay" Campbell [53948:M] and his wife, Yuri [53949:M] of Hong Kong. She is also survived by her life partner, Richard Mackey of Gloucester and her best friend, Gary Lambert of Hamilton. She was the daughter-in-law to Doris and John Felix of Beverly.

Visiting hours will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester, on Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
