Juanita Ruiz Scroggins [, fb], age 67, of Madera, CA. passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at her home surrounded by loved ones, following a challenging five year battle with cancer. Juanita had a feisty spirit and smile that lit up the room, both of which will be dearly missed by all who love her. Juanita was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ruiz; and by her brother, Paul Ruiz. Juanita is survived by her husband of 19 years, Terry Scroggins [], of Madera; daughters, Brooke Krum [] and her husband John [] of Madera, and Traci Walker [, fb] and her husband Matthew Walker [] of Arroyo Grande, CA. She is the beloved daughter of Joe Ruiz of Porterville; sister of Lupe Ruiz of Arizona, and Joe Ruiz Jr. and Mary Beltran, both of Porterville, CA; and the cherished "Mimi" to grandchildren, Nathan Krum, and Hailey Walker. The family expresses their gratitude to Dr. Christopher Perkins; all of his caring and supportive staff and Optimal Hospice, for the compassionate care given to Juanita. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Jay Chapel, 1121 Roberts Ave., Madera, CA, on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Porterville, on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial remembrances may be made to Optimal Hospice Care, 6780 N.
