Connie Scroggins
Connie Scroggins, 88, a lifelong resident of Alamogordo, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in Albuquerque.
She is survived by her eldest son Roy J. Austin of Albuquerque; brother Pete Estrada and his wife Virginia of Alamogordo; sisters: May Lou Armijo also of Alamogordo; Carmen Barerras and her husband Carlos of Chandler, Ari.; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Connie was preceded in death by her father Pedro Estrada and mother Rita Estrada; brothers Willie [39761:C] and Gonzalo Estrada, and sister Maxine Lucero; Connie's husbands Ellis (Jim) Austin and Earl Scroggins [9166:C]; her sons Fred and Larry Austin all of Alamogordo, and daughter Loretta Pacheco of Rio Rancho.
Connie retired from the School of the Visually Handicapped in Alamogordo.
She was a life member of the Alamogordo Women's auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1649 in Alamogordo.
A memorial service will be held at the Loyal Order of Moose #2016 on South Florida Avenue on Aug. 2, at 1 p.m.
