Wilma Scroggins, 86, of Girard Ks died at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Girard Medical Center after a short illness.

Services are pending and will be announced by the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg.

Wilma Scroggins

 Wilma Scroggins, 86, of Girard Ks died at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, January
23, 2014 at Girard Medical Center after a short illness.

Wilma was born April 13, 1927 at the old Girard Hospital in Girard KS,
daughter of Francis Patrick and Cleo Shook Fitzgerald. She attended
school and graduated from Walnut Ks, taught for two years at rural
country schools, and was a homemaker for man yyears before hiring on
and advancing to Phone Center Supervisor for the Sears Roebuck
Catalog Store in Olathe Ks, where she retired in 1983.

She married Stanley Virgil Scroggins [39229:S] of Girard KS on September 12,
1947 in Girard and has lived in Crawford County and Olathe throughout
her life.

Survivors include daughter Janice Scroggins [49274:S] of Girard Ks, Grandson
David Pietarila [] of Lake Forest Ca, great granddaughter Taylor Pietarila []
of Enid OK, nieces Nancy Grantham and Edith Ramage of Girard,
nephew Curtis Puckett of Colorado Springs CO,great-niece and
nephew Chelsie and Evan Grantham of Girard KS and several nieces
and nephews on her husband’s side.

She was preceded in death by husband Stanley [39229:S], son Larry Scroggins [48913:S],
grandson Steven Pietarila [], sister Helen Puckett, Mother Cleo and father
Francis Fitzgerald.

A celebration of Wilma’s life will be held for close friends and family at a
future date.The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form
of memorials to the SEK Humane Society.
