Dina Ann Darden, 50, of Searcy, died Friday, December 20, 2013. She was born April 15, 1963 in Pleasant Plains. Dina was a person that enjoyed life and everyone around her. She was a big hearted person and had become "Nana" to all of the children in the family. She was especially proud of her education. Dina had received her Masters from Harding University and had recently begun working toward her Doctorate Degree. She was former assistant manager at Wal-Greens and was known for her big smile and her faith in the Lord. She was baptized at the Downtown Church of Christ.
She is survived by her father, Jerreld Phipps (Maggie); siblings, Peggy Humes, Danny Phipps, Judy Cornwell, Wayne Phipps and Bobbie Sue Phipps; daughter, Alexandria Williams; grandmother, Audie Scroggins; 12 nieces and 4 nephews as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Kay Phipps [21077:M]; grandmother, Lurleen Pearrow and grandfather, Albert Scroggings [21069:M].
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Services will be conducted on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
