Friday, June 3, 2011, Onnie Scroggins passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family. Onnie was born on March 5, 1931 in Heavener Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He believed in his love of country, our nations support of our troops, and his family. Upon his discharge from the military, he settled in Ukiah where he met Margie and lived out his life. He worked 40 years with the Masonite Corporation, providing for his family. Never wavering in his commitment to family and friends. He was an avid hunter, always surrounded by his boys and close buddies. Onnie was happiest when his kids were home. The light in his eyes when the grandkids came in was nothing short of the most sunny day. Pure joy could be seen there. There aren't words to express how much he will be missed. Onnie was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lee [39846] and Earlene Scroggins [39857]. Brothers and best friends, Tommy [?] and Bobby [39838] Scroggins. And best friends, Arlee and Betty Higgins. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margie [39861] and 5 children; Larry [?], Steve [?], Roger [41329], Sandy [41330], and Kim [51331]. Sons and daughters in law; Linda, Cindy, Teri, Greg, and Jim. Grandchildren; Michelle, Robin, Steve, Jennifer, Summer, Jessica, Lacey, Matthew, Sarah, and Joe, and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers in law, Alma [39849] and Jay Mitchell [39850], and Marie [39848] and Al Carkin [39851]. We would like to thank Ukiah Valley Medical Center emergency room staff for their professionalism, kindness, and caring during a very difficult time. It was Onnie's wish that no formal services be held. There will be a private family graveside service.
