Marilyn Scroggins Hogue, 55, of Malvern died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003.
She was born May 30, 1948, in England, Ark., to Doris M. Wright Scroggins and James M. Scroggins of Plainview.
A long-time resident of the Glen Rose and a valued member of the Glen Rose High School faculty, she was a devoted Christian and a member of the Glen Rose Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her high school sweetheart and husband of 35 years, John T. Hogue Sr.,of Glen Rose; a son, John T. Hogue Jr (and his wife, Caroline Gossett Hogue) of Plainview; a daughter Allison Lea Hogue-Brown (and her husband, Jeff Brown) of Benton; a granddaughter, Chloe of Plainview; and two grandsons, Dalton and Garrett of Benton; a brother, Raymond Scroggins of Little Rock; a sister, Dorthea Andrews of Plainview; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Ashby Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Dan Flora officiating. Burial will be in Fairplay Cemetery in Glen Rose. Pallbearers will be Michael Millwood, James Scroggins, John Scroggins, Jason Taylor, Travis Wooten, and Jim Hogue. Honorary pallbearers are Mrs. Hogue's friends and associates from the Glen Rose High School faculty.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. Sunday.

Family comments: Her life was an exceptional example of integrity, loyalty, true love, and devotion to God, her family, church, many friends, and the community. For many years, she was active and faithful in working with the children's ministries of the churches she attended. A naturally industrious individual, she enjoyed her work and approached and completed every task with remarkable energy, dedication and excellence. She met every challenge of life with great wisdom, faith, courage, and strength of character. Each effort earned the trust, admiration, and respect of all who were privileged to know her. She sincerely loved people and will always be remembered with deep and enduring affection.
