SCROGGIN ADRIENNE GOYETTE, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister and aunt, went home to be with the Lord April 8 after a courageous battle with cancer. An inspiration to all who knew and loved her, she faced her illness with grace, dignity and remarkable strength. She is survived by her loving and cherished husband, Charles Scroggin [4807:K]; five daughters, Michele (Eric) Farris, Suzanne (Joseph) De Maria, Elizabeth (Arnaldo) Gonzalez, Nicole Feenane, Denice (Eduardo) Pozo; and two sons, Edward (Melissa) and Michael (Megan) Feenane. She is also survived by her two sisters and brother, Michele (Donald) Transue, Suzanne (Philip) Brawner and Paul Goyette. Her dear friend and former husband of 24 years, Edward Feenane, also shares in their grief. Adrienne leaves behind 15 grandchildren, Patrick, Philip, Nicole, Kathryn, Lillian Barrantes and Elise Farris, Stephanie, Dana and Michelle DeMaria, Sarah and Jacqueline Gonzalez, Edward and Joseph Pozo, Christopher Tavera and Renzo Renzi, Jr., as well as her nieces and nephews. Adrienne had an eye for beauty in everything she did and touched. She was a gifted artist who recalled falling in love with art when she was just seven years old, after being introduced to crayons and the renowned artist Denman Fink. A member of the Miami Watercolor Society, she painted historical sites of her much-loved Coral Gables and was regarded for her commissioned home portraits. As a teacher she loved to share her knowledge with her students and watch their skill develop. Her talent extended to the embroidery arts where the Embroiders Guild of America awarded her the title of Master Craftsman. Of all her many hobbies and interests she was most proud of her accomplishment as mother to seven adoring children. She would fondly say, "There is one for each day of the week." A natural born beauty, she was 1957's Miss Miami and daughter of the late Pan American Clipper pilot Captain Cyril Adrian Goyette and Maria Mickler Goyette of Coral Gables. She was born in 1938 in Oakland, California where her father was stationed with Pan American Airways. Her family returned to Miami when she was two years old and has since called the city home. She attended St. Theresa and Coral Gables High School. Prior to motherhood, she enjoyed a career as a model and later as a flight attendant with Eastern Airline. Adrienne was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Louis church. She dedicated countless hours to helping others in the program of recovery, where she made life-long friendships and inspiredothers to lead lives of sobriety. Her love and admiration for the program cannot be overstated. Our loss for her is beyond measure. Mom, we know you will be painting the gates of heaven. A viewing will be held from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. Thursday at Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel at 11240 North Kendall Drive. A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Church at 7270 SW 120th Street. Memorials may be sent to the Wellness Community at 8609 South Dixie Highway, Miami, Florida 33143 in memory of Adrienne Goyette Scroggin .
