Fatalities from Sunday's killer storms From Staff Reports

Authorities say 23 people were killed in Northeast Alabama in Sunday's storms. Names of 22 were available this morning. All but Ms. Brown and Savant were at the church in Goshen.

George L. Scroggin Sr. | Semiretired, the 79-year-old Scroggin still raised cattle on his farm and was active in the church. ``He never missed church, although he couldn't hear any of the service,'' says Mrs. Scroggin, his daughter-in-law. His son, Kirk, was also killed in the tornado.

Robert Kirk Scroggin | The 37-year-old son of George Scroggin, he worked for Wayne Day Casket Co. in Centre. Had just finished singing a solo | his first ever at the church | when the tornado struck.

Eric Thacker | The 12-year-old boy was one of four children of Donna New, who was injured in the tornado. An athletic youth who was good at baseball and basketball, Eric attended Spring Garden School. ...

George Scroggin , late 70s. He was a retired farmer who remained active in the church. His son, Kirk Scroggin [39503], 37, who worked at a casket company, also was killed.
