Donald R. Scroggins Sr.

Donald Ray Scroggins Sr., [42792:K] 46, of 3 Rosewood Drive, died at 5 a.m. Friday at Memorial Medical Center. Born in Auburn, Mr. Scroggins was the son of Ray [40237:K] and Mary Nunn [40238:K] Scroggins. A resident of Springfield since 1954, Mr. Scroggins was married to Arlene Jacobs [36236:K] Aug. 8, 1954. A carpenter by trade, Mr. Scroggins was a veteran of World War II and had served in the Korean conflict. Surviving are his wife, Arlene; three sons, Donald Ray [37481:K], Mitchell [37432:K], and Mark [52400:K], all of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Marlene Gudgel [52401:K] and Mrs. Cheryl Neznick [52399:K] of Springfield; two brothers, John [40249:K] of Chatham and Walter [40236:K] of Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Janet Denning 40250:K] of Canton and Mrs. Bonnie Ward [40252:K] of Pawnee; three grandchildren; and several aunts, nieces, and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Jospeh Miller officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
