Message: Eileene Catania 1914 - 2006 Eileene Catania Mar. 2, 1914 Feb. 16, 2006 Eileene Catania, aged 91 went to her home in Heaven on February 16, 2006. Mostly healthy, she had dementia the final 10 years of her life. Eileene was born in Portland, Oregon to "Mac" and Jessie McArthur. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Victor J. Catania and sister, Jeanne. She is survived by daughters; Gail Oblinger, Vicki and husband, Dick Robertson, Marty, and husband, Truman Lakin, and Nancy and husband, Ray Scroggins. The 6 who called her "Gramalene" are Paul and Austin Sisemore, Linda Pozun, Rich and Tina Robertson, and Jeffrey Scroggins. She also has 7 great-grandchildren; Jesse Osenbaugh, Jeanette Eckert, Paul Sisemore, Rich, Raemi and Ryan Robertson, and LeAnne Pozun. She also has 4 great-great-grandchildren. Eileene is "Momalene" to Catrina Chen Lee. Eileene was a member of Canyon Hills Assembly of God Church, past and charter member of Women of Italian Heritage. The family would like to thank especially Esther Maese and Julia Lilly of The Gables where Mom lived for 5 years; her caregivers the past 8 months at Evergreen Healthcare and Dr. Frank Chang. Eileene graduated from Willows High School, Willows, CA in 1932. She met Vic while a college student in San Francisco. Eileene worked for the State of Calif., Camp Fire Girls and San Francisco Ship Yards at Treasure Island in WWII. Many times she mentioned that the raising of her children was her most satisfying job. She was an accomplished pianist who gave piano lessons, donated time at rest homes and with Bakersfield Community Theater. For fun Eileene liked to go to Greenhorn, the coast, travel, crochet, play pool, and Bible Study. She was a faithful intercessor prayer warrior and her greatest interest of all was things having to do with learning more about Jesus. Cremains will be at interred at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
