Scroggins, David Lee (23 Apr 1959 - 13 May 2013) [51947:N]

Medford [OR] Mail-Tribune, David Lee Scroggins, 18 May 2013

David Lee Scroggins [51947:N] of Medford, Ore. passed away Sunday, May, 13, 2013, after a two-year battle with ALS.

David was 53 years young when he passed and spent the majority of those years living in Oregon, the state he loved. He worked for Jackson County Roads and Parks until his illness forced his retirement in 2011. David was an avid sportsman who loved fishing, hiking, camping, and exploring, but his passion was his archery and he lived to bow hunt. He was an accomplished sportsman and was happiest when dressed in camouflage, in a blind with his bow in his hand and his prey in his sights.

He met his wife and soul mate, Linda Leonhart Scroggins [51949:N], and together they spent 14 wonderful years sharing their loves and their lives with each other.

David is survived by his father, Duane Scroggins [38861:N], of Walla Walla, Wash.; two sisters, Darla Steiner[51950:N], of Crofton, Md. and Darinda Coble [51951:N], of Milton-Freewater, Ore.; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Dot) Swearingen Scroggins [51948:N].

David touched our lives with his love. Those who knew him well knew he was a proud, quiet man with a kind heart and a man who loved and cared deeply for his family and friends. He will be missed by all of us and forever be in our hearts.

No service is planned and the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the local ALS foundation or to the Oregon Hunters Association in his name.

Arrangements handled by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 541-770-6505.
