Forever Missed, Satunja Janise 'Toot' Johnson

WEST POINT - Ms. Satunja J. "Toot" Johnson, 45, of West Point died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Vista Care Hospice in Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. EST Saturday, Jan. 19 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Dr. W.T. Edmondson, the Rev. T.L. Gilbert, the Rev. Jerome Spence and the Rev. Michael Slaughter officiating. Burial will follow at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point.
Mrs. Johnson leaves to cherish wonderful memories her husband, William Johnson Jr.; her son, Demonta (Alisha) Lovelace of LaGrange; two daughters, Saquaria (Quincy) Johnson of LaGrange and Ayanna Johnson of Marietta, Ga.; a devoted mother and father, Martha (Howard) Davidson and Alton [51514] (Estella) Scroggins Sr. of West Point; two grandchildren, Makiya Rhodes and Taylor Lovelace of La-Grange, Ga.; six sisters, Erika Davidson, Sejuana Scroggins [fb], Vanstashia Huguley, Candance McQueen and Ashley Bonner, all of West Point, and Rachel Lowry of LaGrange; three brothers, Horatio Davidson of Rochester, N.Y., Pedro Davidson of Valley and Alton Scroggins Jr. of West Point; a special aunt, Shirley Holloway of Jacksonville, Fla.; a cousin whom she reared as her own, Jasmine Lovelace of West Point; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Born Jan. 17, 1966 in Troup County, Ga., Mrs.
Johnson was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a product of the West Point Public Schools System and was a member of the West Point High School graduating class of 1984. Mrs. Johnson, "Toot" as she was known by most, was a very loving person.
The remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday from noon until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Satunja Janise “Toot” Lovelace Johnson was born on January 17, 1966 to Martha L. Lovelace and Alton l. Scroggins, Sr. in Troup County. She departed this life Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Vista Care Hospice, Atlanta, GA, in her mother’s arm, along with her family members surrounding her.
She was a graduate of West Point High School’s Class of 1984. During her high school years, she was very active. She was a cheerleader captain, 1984 Homecoming Queen, Senior Superlative, Point-Guard of the varsity basketball team, and best all-around.
Mrs. Johnson united with Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully until health declined. “Toot”, as she was called, loved to cook for her family and friends. She was a very loving person inside and outside. She loved everyone that she encountered. Whenever you saw Toot, there was a warm greeting along with a smile. She never met a stranger.
Satunja was united in Holy Matrimony to her high school sweetheart, Mr. William C. Johnson, Jr. Under this union, she was blessed with three children.
