Peggy A. Merrill, 70, of Anderson, passed away January 6, 2013 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born March 21, 1942 in Wilder, TN and was a lifelong Anderson resident. She retired from the Center for Mental Health, was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by three children, Deborah Merrill , Brett Merrill and Rebecca (husband, Darrell) Davis, all of Anderson; two grandchildren, Lindsay Merrill and Courtney Davis, both of Anderson; great grandson, Chauncey Abrom of Anderson; sister, Barbara Medley [47307:J] of Monterey, TN; brother-in-law, Wendell Griffin [h/47309:J] of Central City, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter [30067:J] and Beulah (Smith) [47306:J] Scroggins; husband, Tommy Merrill; grandson, Daniel Morrison; sisters, Patsy Griffin [47309:J] and Sandra Scroggins [47301:J]; and brother-in-law, Larry Medley [h/47307:J].
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital for their care of Peggy.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. Gary McCaslin officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association.
