Bertha E. Hutchison

Bertha E. Hutchison, 93 of Shippensburg passed away, Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in Menno Haven, Chambersburg.
Born June 2, 1916 near Roxbury, Franklin County; she was a daughter of the late William Walter and Edith Pauline Sites Martin.

She was the widow of Irvin D. Hutchison whom she married May 12, 1933.

Mrs. Hutchison was a housewife, mother and grandmother, a member of the Church of Christ, Shippensburg, a former employee of Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, and of the H.J. Heinz Co., Chambersburg.

Her hobbies consisted of sewing, crocheting, making crafts, gardening, and traveling.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her infant son Thomas I. Hutchison, a brother William E. Martin, and a sister Mary S. Brill, three great grandchildren Andrea L. Gantt, Kenneth L. Surber, and Maison P. Killian.

She is survived by a son; William P. Hutchison and his wife Carma of Shippensburg, three daughters; Shirley L. Perry and Linda M. Shettel of Shippensburg, and Sondra L. Scroggins and her husband Don of Midland, VA, a sister; Audrey P. Eutzy and her husband Carl of Silver Springs, MD, a brother; Ronald G. Martin and his wife Norma of Fayetteville, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 2:00 p.m.. Officiating will be The Rev. Vernon D. Isner. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home on Friday.
