Tommy Jean Barrett Scroggins [43877]
Funeral for Jean Scroggins, 73, of Nacogdoches will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing, with the Rev. Ronnie Luman officiating. Burial will be in the Clifton Cemetery near Cushing. Mrs. Scroggins died March 9, 2009, in Nacogdoches. Born Sept. 20, 1935, in Nacogdoches County, she was the daughter of Tommie and Lilly Berry Barrett. She was a homemaker and had worked as a nurse's aide. She was a member of the Happy Valley Pentecostal Church, Cushing. She was married to Garth Scroggins [43876], and he preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Brenda Kerr [43878] of Garrison and Barbara Cole [43875] and Sherry Gill [44080], both of Nacogdoches; brothers, Horace Barrett of Buna and James Barrett of Conroe; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11. Dickie Allen Funeral Home, Cushing.
