Died 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1995, at Riverview Medical Center, Gonzales. He was 58, a native of Bucyrus, Ohio, a resident of Prairieville and a former resident of French Settlement for six years. He was a retired U.S. Army maintenance engineer. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, 5 to 10 p.m Friday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, at 11 a.m Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Miles Kearney. Burial in the Prairieville Cemetery.
Survived by wife, Margaret Ann Puglia Dugger, Prairieville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark Elden and Bonnie Dugger, Maurepas, Max Allen Dugger, Prairieville, and Warren Enrico and Beth Dugger, Severna Park, Md.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred and Chet Mills, Delaware, Dorothy Pwacek, Phoenix, Ariz., and Nettie Thompson, Salmon, Idaho; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike [David Michael Dugger] [51468] and Susan Dugger, Summerville, S.C.; a brother-in-law, Ted Lane, Head of Island; many, many friends all over the world, including his inlaws; numerous nieces and nephews, including Judy and Herndon Wederstrandt and family, Head of Island; three grandchildren, Warren E. Dugger II, Cody and Ashley Dugger.
Preceded in death by parents, Eunie Barger and Clara Mae Scroggins Dugger. Pallbearers will be Mark, Max, Warren and Mike Dugger, Weedy, Brian and Brett Wederstrandt, and Larry Lane. He was a member of VFW Post No. 3693 and DAV No. 45 in Gonzales. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in 1954 and in 1956 enlisted in the U.S. Army, spending his first assignment in Fountainbleu, France, until 1959. Married Margaret Ann Dugger Dec. 21, 1960. From 1961 to 1964 he was stationed at Fort Knox, Ky.; from 1964 to 1974 he was a homebuilder. He returned to the U.S. Army Jan. 1, 1975, and spent the next 11 years at Fort Hunter Leggett, Calif., Fort Ord, Calif., Fort Belvoir, Va., Fort Polk, and the 317th Engineering Battalion in Eschborne, Germany. He was medically retired from the 97th General Hospital, Frankfurt, Germany, in July 1986.
