Graveside service for Phyllis Jean Scoggins, 67, will be Sunday, February 26, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Stockdale Cemetery. The Rev. Kevin Jones will officiate. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Mrs. Scoggins passed away February 23, 2017 at Citizens BMC. She was a native of Jefferson County and lived in Talladega County since 2008. She was a member of Stockdale Baptist Church and graduated from UAB in 1987. Phyllis was a retired registered nurse at HealthSouth Medical Center. Mrs. Scoggins is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond David Johnson and Lorraine Mae Johnson, and brother, David Lee Johnson. Her survivors include her husband, Wayne Scoggins; daughter, Kathryn Rhea Morefield (David); son, Gregory Wayne Scoggins (Laura Leigh); four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She graduated from University of Alabama Birmingham in 1987. She was a retired Registered Nurse at HealthSouth Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond David Johnson and Lorraine Mae Johnson, and brother, David Lee Johnson. She is survived by her husband, daughter, son, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Graveside service: 3:00 p.m. February 26, 2017 at Stockdale Cemetery. Arrangements: Usrey Funeral Home.
