Deceased Name: Laura Scroggins
Laura Ruth Kinnard Scroggins , 89, of North Vernon, formerly of Madison, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon.

She was born April 6, 1924, in Jefferson County, to Robert and Tressie Stearns Kidd. She retired as an attendant supervisor with Muscatatuck State Hospital. She was a member of Dupont Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Alice Brown of North Vernon; one son, Donald Kinnard of Centerville, Ohio; five step daughters, Debbie Righthouse, Donna McClanahan, Pamela Mount Castieu, Janet Conley and Catherine Stanley; two step sons, Larry Scroggins and Wallace Scroggins ; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Kinnard; second husband, Wallace Scroggins ; one son, Cecil Kinnard; her parents; and one brother, Fred Kidd.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Bayless Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Bayless Cemetery Association. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
